About the job

As a Field Assembly Technician, one month you test our complex machines in our own assembly hall. The next month, you pack your suitcase and travel the world to fully install and commission the delivered production line at the customer’s site together with your team. With your experience, you contribute independently—yet as part of a team—to the delivery of high-quality custom-built machines that Royal Houdijk develops for internationally established biscuit and cookie manufacturers.

Your key responsibilities:

Reading technical drawings and schematics;
Assembling mechanical and electrical components;
Installing and connecting machines on site;
Performing functional tests and resolving any malfunctions;
Reporting on progress and any bottlenecks.

What you can expect:

A very competitive fixed base salary between €3.400 and €4.676 gross per month. Due to the extensive travel involved in this role, you are eligible for many additional allowances, which can sometimes even double your fixed monthly salary.
A solid pension plan with PME, to which Royal Houdijk contributes 50%.
27 vacation days and 13 ADV (reduction of working hours) days in accordance with the Metalektro collective labor agreement (CLA).
The option to sell ADV days in exchange for a higher monthly salary.
A fixed monthly commuting allowance based on €0,23 per kilometer.

Key qualifications:

You have an MBO-level diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar field.
You have an affinity for the production or machine-building environment, and preferably experience with mechanical and electrical work.
You are proficient with computers, including Word and Excel.
Good communication skills in both Dutch and English.
You are willing to work abroad regularly for two to three weeks at a time, and preferably already have experience with this.
Providing a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) may be part of the application process.
