You enjoy working with both your hands and your mind.
You are motivated, eager to learn, and reliable.
You want to develop yourself into a hands-on specialist.

What we offer

We are a certified training company and registered with SBB. This means that we are committed to investing in the job market and in our future employees. Every internship (or assignment) is unique, which is why we would like to sit down with you to align it as closely as possible with your learning goals and the requirements of your study program.

If you choose to do your internship at Royal Houdijk, you can count on:

Close guidance from an experienced mentor, based on a personal development plan.
Regular progress evaluations during your internship.
A positive and informal work atmosphere with supportive colleagues.
Plenty of time and space to work on your assignment.
An internship allowance between €280 and €395 per month (based on 40 hours), depending on the type of internship and your study program.

"In January 2024, I started my internship as a technician at Royal Houdijk. Through acquaintances I had already heard positive stories about the company, and the career prospects as an international technician really appealed to me.

During my very first tour, I immediately noticed the friendly atmosphere and the well-organized work environment. Both my internship supervisor and the rest of the team were always ready to help me, which made the experience very enjoyable. I was able to work in several departments, which gave me insight into the entire process and allowed me to learn a lot. Fortunately, there was also plenty of time to work on my report, so I was able to successfully complete my internship.

After my internship, I was offered the opportunity to apply for a job as an international technician. I had always heard great stories from colleagues about projects abroad, so I decided to go for it. A few months later, I am now happily working as an international technician and I am looking forward to making my first work trip soon!"

"For my Mechatronics degree, I was looking for a challenging graduation internship. That’s how I ended up at Royal Houdijk, where I started working in the Software Engineering Department.

This internship was a great preparation for my career. Not only was I challenged by the content of my assignment, but I was also encouraged to show initiative and proactivity, as I was given the freedom to contribute my own ideas.

I felt very welcome in the fun, young team, and my colleagues showed genuine interest in me and my project. So, the choice was easy when Royal Houdijk offered me a great opportunity for my first job after my internship. Since it’s a larger organization with a wide range of roles and specializations, I knew I wouldn’t get bored in the years to come!

By now, I’ve been working as a Software Engineer for several years. The role is highly varied, and I really enjoy seeing how all the technical aspects come together in a fully functioning result. It’s especially rewarding to commission the systems on-site at the customer’s location and watch thousands of freshly baked cookies pass by on the production lines. That’s when I feel proud to have contributed to making that possible!"
